God’s Good News

1. Heaven is a Free Gift.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
We cannot earn it, nor do we deserve it, but God offers it to us a free gift.

2. Man is a Sinner and Cannot Save Himself.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23 “ “… he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy…” Titus 3:5

3. Jesus Christ Purchased This Gift.

He came to earth to die for our sins and to purchase a place in Heaven for us which He offers as a free gift. God demonstrates His love to us “…in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

4. This Gift of Eternal Life is Received by Faith.

Anyone who places his trust for eternal life in Jesus Christ alone will be saved. “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved...” Acts 16:31
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12

Jesus Christ, God the Son, was resurrected from the dead, becoming the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. He died for all, and those who put their faith in Jesus Christ are indwelled by the Holy Spirit and become members of God’s kingdom. Faith in Christ is understanding and accepting that He paid our sin debt in full (as He was the only one who lived a sinless life), repenting of our sins, and then we are sanctified to be made like Him throughout this life. One day, we will be glorified as Jesus is, and we will dwell in His presence forever.
